Stibnite on Quartz (excellent)

Item Description

A wonderful, incredibly sculptural and aesthetic stibnite on quartz combination from this historic precious metal-polymetallic mine, famous for world-class stibnite, realgar and barite specimens. Two diverging sprays of splendent metallic-gray, striated tabular stibnite prisms are dramatically perched atop a sculptural rolling quartz monolith. Most stibnite specimens from Baia Sprie have little or no matrix. A matrix specimen with these exemplary aesthetics is RARE, indeed. For all of the fantastic crystal density, there are very few broken blades. Probably from the 1980s and not available today, except in recycled collections. Valued at $1000-1250 for combination quality and rarity.
