Item Description

A rich and sculptural 360-degree jackstraw cluster of brilliant silver-metallic stibnite blades from the famous White Caps Mine. Radiating clusters strike out in all directions on this expressive piece. The impressive large prism is 3.7 cm long and the bit of attached matrix adds character. This old gold mine is well-known for the finest stibnites in North America. The White Caps produced intermittently from 1865 to about 1958. See the 1985 Mineralogical Record article on the mine in Vol. 16, No. 1. Uncommon today, this is an excellent and classic example from the locale and are highly desired.
