Stibnite (old material)

Item Description

From this lesser known antimony mine that closed around over 60 years ago around 1956, here we have a very rarely seen specimen of Stibnite from the Quien Sabe Mine (Who Knows Mine) in San Benito County, California. The piece features thin, prismatic, silvery, "needle"-like crystals of Stibnite measuring up to 7 mm on host rock matrix. I have never seen one of these specimens in person before, and if you collect sulfides, California minerals, or oddball specimens from the United States, don't miss out on this attractive display specimen. The piece comes from an old East Coast collection and is accompanied by a label from noted dealer John Albanese.
