The dramatic curved termination highlights this large, classic, old-time, stibnite crystal from the renowned Ichinokawa Mine of Japan. The complete all-around, metallic-bright crystal is nicely striated and has a beautiful light metallic-blue iridescence. Primary production from this famous locale was over by 1900. These stibnites were considered the world standard, until the recent Chinese finds. Contacting at the base and out-of-sight bruising on the back are noted, but certainly have only minimal impact to the overall very high quality of this crystal. Ex Mervyn Ford Collection.
