Item Description

Good, representative Stibnite specimen from the Burgenland area in Austria. Lustrous and striated, Stibnite has been coming from the mines here for at least 100 years. This small cabinet specimen is rich with numerous veins and pockets, and the largest Stibnite crystal reaches 2.5 cm in length. Although there is some damage, it is a large and showy piece wiht importance. Formerly in the collections of Wilhelm Schmidt and the Mineral Museum of Hamburg. From the collection of Dr. Bob Byers, a stibnite specialist in California. You almost never see these old classics for sale!
