Item Description

Rich, impressive and uncommon large, triangular plate of mustard-yellow Stibiconite partially pseudomorphing a sculptural, dense cluster of Stibnite crystals. The terminated prisms reach about 3.0 cm. Trivial interior bruising to some crystal tips and the periphery wear on one side reveals the partial altering of the lustrous, metallic stibnite to stibiconite. The Xikuangshan deposit is the world's largest antimony deposit and is famous for world-classic stibnite and stibnite with calcite specimens. The base of piece has been sawed to enhance the display quality of this rich, large specimen. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. Stibiconite specimens of this richness, size and quality are uncommon on the market from here. Old material from the 1980s-1990s.
