Stibiotantalite is a REE oxide. It is an uncommon accessory mineral in complex granitic pegmatites. This attractive large thumbnail / toenail sized piece features a few terminated, tabular, translucent, honey-brown crystals in parallel growth. The largest crystal measures 2.1 cm long. A fine quality piece despite a bit of roughness on the underside. I think everybody would agree that the best crystals of this species are found at this locality, and specimen of this size and quality are certainly very hard to find on the market especially today.
