Item Description

Stibiconite after stibnite specimens from the historic old silver mines at Catorce are a classic and desirable Mexico species. This is an exceptional and rare combination from an obscure mine. A pristine, sharply terminated pseudo is dramatically accented by the matrix sliver capped a glorious corsage of glassy dogtooth calcite crystals. Calcite is RARE from Catorce. "Stibiconite was for a long time an acknowledged species, but is now considered questionable, in line with the revised nomenclature of the minerals of the pyrochlore supergroup (Atencio et al. 2010). Stibiconite is not a discredited mineral. The stibiconite problem is discussed in Christy & Atencio (2013)(MINDAT)."
