Item Description

A 360-degree, impressive and aesthetic diverging cluster of tan sharply terminated pseudomorphs of stibiconite after stibnite crystals. The large pseudo is 8.5 cm long and all of the primary crystals are pristine. Intergrown very glassy calcite rhombs on side are an attractive and typical associaiton. The broken tips of the sidecar crystals on the front are certainly only a very minimal detraction to this very fine complete all-around example. These pieces came from the Catorce area, near the historic and famous old silver-lead-zinc mining district of Real de Catorce. Stibiconite after stibnite specimens from Catorce are a classic and highly desirable Mexico species. An excellent specimen from the Ken Roberts Pseudomorph Collection.
