Item Description

Patches, to 2.3 cm, of metallic, tin-white, indistinct stibarsen crystals are aesthetically set on both sides of the massive matte surface of allementite I, a mixture of antimony and stibarsen. Stibarsen is a rare native alloy of arsenic and antimony. The vein of an unknown mineral adds character to this hefty and rare ore specimen. The label states that the stibarsen is the tin white colored material sitting in "allementite I" matrix. This is one of only a handful of pieces of this species that we've seen, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak/Pequa Rare Minerals. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371.
