Item Description

Stibarsen is a rare natural alloy of arsenic and antimony. This impressive two-sided layered crust is solid stibarsen. The front is botryoidal. Both sides have splendent silver-metallic luster, especially on the striking, concave scalloped back. The old synonym is allemontite, named for the French Type Locality. This relatively obscure locality is the subject of a fine and comprehensive article in MIneralogical Record, V. 27, No. 4, 1996. It is certainly uncommon on the market. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1979. valued $900-1200
