Stepped-growth hoppered Pyromorphite

Surreal dense two-sided stepped-growth pyromorphite from Daoping. The luscious, translucent bright apple-green hexagonal prisms have fabulous hoppered terminations on one side. The hexagonal form of the stacked hoppered prisms is stunning and the rich green color and lustre on this piece is first rate. This striking form reminds me of old-time two-sided brown German Bad Ems pyromorphites, but are even more colorful! The 'B' side looks great from either direction. These fantastic specimens came out in small lots in the 2010s, not from the prolific early 2000s finds. Specimens of this quality were rare from the limited finds. Valued at $2000-2500 and worth it.
