Stephanite with Pyrite and Tetrahedrite on Quartz

Item Description

This piece is labeled as only coming from Zacatecas, Mexico, and based upon the style of the Quartz, it really looks like it's from the Aranzazú Mine (El Cobre Mine), but the only problem is that Stephanite has not been reported from this locality, so if there are any Mexican mineral experts out there, we would apprecaite any insight as to the origin of this specimen. The pieces hosts attractive orthorhombic micro crystals of lead-grey colored Stephanite associated with golden metallic Pyrite along with minor grey-black colored Tetrahedrite sitting on a crystallized "rib" of white Quartz. The piece is best seen under magnification, and we've used a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality.
