Stellerite w/ Calcite (Trimingham Coll.)

Item Description

Juicy, translucent, rounded clusters of brown to yellow stellerite lathes fill a sculptural vug on this excellent and showy piece from the late 1980s early 1990s finds. Part of the vug is lined with rhombic calcite. This brown color is uncommon for the mine, as most such stellerites are orange. The broken ball reveals the radial growth of the spheres. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and his label states, that the piece was formerly in the Fersman Musuem Collection.
