Stellerite (NOT Stilbite) (good quality)

PLEASE NOTE: For years, these specimens were labeled as Stilbite, but after extensive testing, everything has come back as Stellerite, making these some of the finest Stellerite crystals in the world. This small cabinet display specimen is a really attractive and fine quality Stellerite from what most people would consider to be a fairly obscure locality. Despite the number of Indian minerals on the market (both Stilbite and Stellerite), this piece stands out in terms of color, crystal size and overall quality. The luster is wet and glistening while the deep orange hue of these thick "sword"-shaped bladed crystals glows in the light. The largest crystal can be seen on the lower front portion of the specimen, and measures 4.8 cm long. It actually has termination faces on each end, though I wouldn't say it's completely doubly-terminated as it's contacted on he right side and intergrown with the the main "sword"-shaped group atop the specimen. Overall the piece is in fine shape and displays wonderfully. If you collect zeolites or minerals of Australia, or you're just a fan of good crystallized minerals, do not pass this one up, it's really superb for the species.
