Item Description
Stellerite is known from many world localities, but often the crystals are white / light yellow, or some variation thereof. Rarely does one encounter such vibrantly colored Stellerites as this. The area around Coonabarabran (Garawilla) is quite possibly best known for producing these amazing richly colored Stellerites. This specimen is packed with strong orange-red groups of sharp, well-formed, highly lustrous Stellerite crystals measuring up to 4.4 cm sitting a on minor matrix. The color is about as strong as I've seen from any locality in the world for the species. Very little damage, and great quality. Hard to find material, I'm told that these came out in the 1970s. The piece comes with a FREE acrylic base for easy display. Priced at $3,500 in our inventory.
