Stellerite (''bow ties'')

There aren't too many places in the world to get fine crystallized Stellerites like this, but India has produced some of the world's best examples of the species. It's also quite rare to get your hands on a showy cabinet sized specimen of Stellerite outside of India. This piece hosts pale orange to cream colored crystals of Stellerite forming "bow tie"-shaped groups comprising sheaf-like crystals on a thin layer of matrix. The largest "bow tie" measures 3.3 cm across. The piece is almost completely undamaged on the display side. One does not encounter Stellerites like this from any locality, and the quality is certainly good for the species. If you are a zeolite collector, or simply enjoy outstanding large specimens of minerals that are seldom seen in such quality, do not miss out on this one.
