Item Description

These old Staurolites are virtually impossible to find on the market today. I haven't seen one in years, and this particular piece is a good example of this elusive material. The piece hosts sharp, well-formed, blocky, dark reddish-brown colored crystal of Staurolite measuring up to 1.3 cm, sitting on schist matrix. If you look closely, you'll see some tiny reddish-pink colored dodecahedral crystals of Garnet (presumably Almandine or Pyrope) sprinkled here and there. If you collect minerals of New Mexico, don't miss out on this attractive and hard to find display piece for your collection.
