Item Description
A great example of Staurolite featuring well-defined, sharp, lustrous, deep brown colored crystals forming a textbook penetration twin, free of matrix. Both crystals on the specimen are doubly-terminated, and the piece is in excellent condition overall, despite a few small imperfections. One rarely sees twinned Staurolites of this size and quality from Madagascar on the market these days, and this particular specimen dates back several decades. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
