Item Description
A showy stellate spray of lustrous, brownish-black staurolite prisms to 4.2 cm is attractively set on the sparkly muscvite schist plate. Staurolite is RARE from the Ilmen Mountains of the Urals (not listed in MINDAT). Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired from Hamel Mining in 1990. Previously came with an Anton Berger label, well-known Austrian mineral dealers from the 1920s-1950s, according to Bob's label. Possibly from the Kola Peninsula.
