Item Description
This is one of a only a handful of faceted Staurolite gems we've ever had to offer in the auctions. This well-known iron aluminum silicate mineral is almost always seen in dark brown opaque crystals, but a small amount of material found in Brazil many years ago was not only gem quality, but had a beautiful reddish color. These stones are incredibly hard to find on the market these days, and if you're a rare stone collector, don't pass up the chance to get your hands on something that is probably rarer than most people realize. This stone is a wonderful eye-clean "Marquise" cut gem with a dark reddish-brown color. A good quaity stone, albeit on the smaller side. It would still make a wonderful addition to any rare gem collection.
