Item Description

An aesthetic and showy specimen of sharp, lustrous brown cruciform-twinned Staurolite crystals on sparkly Muscovite schist. The twinned Staurolite is 2.7 cm, tip to tip. From the looks of the Staurolites, as well as the appearance of the matrix, best guess is that this is from the Kola Peninsula of Russia. An excellent piece for form and aesthetics, there is even a section of a very large Staurolite crystal that acts as a stalk for the piece.
