Cruciform twins, such as this excellent example, are RARELY as large as this classic 7.7 cm crystal from this Russian locale, well-known for the species. The cross is aesthetically set on the sparkly sculptural schist matrix. Three of the four terminations are pristine and portions of this large cross are visible on the back with more crystals and crystal sections, as a bonus. A showy and choice large staurolite from the Keivy Mountains. Ex R.D. Mushlitz Collection. One o fthe best in the size, in terms of shape and symmetry! I bought it from friends in the Fersman Museum of Moscow in the mid 1990s, and sold to Mr Mushlitz at that time. Lesser examples sell for a few hundred dolalrs. this is a Killer for what it is!
