Staurolite (classic "cross" twin)

A very showy two-sided small cabinet of staurolite crystals on sparkly muscovite schist from this well-known locale. One side features an impressive, classic penetration-twinned "X" or "cross" of sharp, doubly terminated staurolite crystals The large crystal is 4.0 cm and the X is pristine. The lightly bruised side car crystal adds character. The crystals also come as cruciform twins from here. More single crystals on the back, to 3.3 cm, are a bonus. These are fairly stout crystals and this is fine, highly representative two-sided example of the species and locale.
