Item Description

Stannoidite is a rare copper, iron, zinc, tin sulfosalt and is extremely rare in specimens from ANY worldwide locality. Stannoidite is the duller metallic mineral present, granular brass-BROWN (as described on the label) elongated patch at the lower left of the bright Chalcopyrite. Specimens of any species are rare from this ancient Japanese mine and this piece may possibly be unique on the market. This silver mine opened in 807 AD and finally closed in 1973!
