Item Description

The prolific Yaogangxian Mine in China has unquestionably produced the finest crystals of Stannite in the world. There is no dispute that the top Stannites from this mine exceed all others found, both in terms of size and quality. This piece is a wonderful showy association specimen that was mined in the early 2000s featuring attractive, black colored clusters of Stannite measuring to around 8 mm, associated with sharp, blocky, well-formed metallic silvery crystals of Arsenopyrite measuring up to 1.2 cm, along with several white, prismatic, lustrous Quartz crystals, which measure up to 6.5 cm long. I love the aesthetics of the piece and the balance creates a very eye-catching cabinet sized display specimen. No major damage I can find, and for a "black and white" rock, it's visually quite appealing and fine quality. Valued $1,500.
