Item Description

An OLD-TIME, RARE and rich combination from this famous Cornwall locale. Matte-finish dark gray, rare stannite richly covers both sides of the piece. Rich yellow-green lustrous patches of microcrystalline scorodite and crusts are a dramatic contrast. The end of the piece holds a surprise, as the core matrix wedge is covered with a rind of pearlescent muscovite plates. Some other brighter sulfides are also visible. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with an old label. Her label was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Not pretty to look at, but a RARE, rich and excellent three-sided combination from the Cligga Head.
