Item Description

Bisbee is most famous for its copper-based mineral specimens, but here is a large example of iron minerals that are often ugly, but here appears in a very sculptural, stalactitic form. Lustrous, goethite botryoids cover all sides of the boxwork of graduated-length limonite stalactites. The sloped end is only very gently contacted. Rare, old-time material from the famous Copper Queen Mine (probably the Czar Shaft), certainly dating to prior to World War I. Ex Dartmouth College Collection and the numbers match. A must for the locality or species collector.
