Item Description
Classic and rare 19th century stalactitic chalcedony from this obscure small Cornwall copper and tin mine, that only operated from 1837-42 (MINDAT). Artistically intergrown CURVED dense columns of nubby, lustrous, translucent honey-brown chalcedony stalactites cover both sides of this very sculptural two-sided rib. Both ends were contacted against the vug walls, but this remains an outstanding rich and rare example of stalactitic chalcedony from this historic old mine. From an East Coast collection. Undoubtedly old-time material, but no proof. The piece GLOWS, when back lit.
