Item Description

A really attractive and very gemmy Triphane Spodumene from Afghanistan. A great specimen from one of the most classic and productive regions in the world to date for gem quality pink Spodumene (Kunzite). The Spodumene crystal on this piece is NOT hydrothermally etched, so it has maintained its sharp "sword"-shaped appearance. It is also a notable GEM crystal along with its great form, good luster and classic yellowish-green color. To top it off, the Spodumene is sitting on a slightly "smoky" crystal of Quartz for an added sense of aesthetics. For all you gem crystal collectors, this is a very worthwhile and attractive specimen for your collection. All in all, a notable gem crystal from this famous Spodumene producing locality. Despite their popularity, good gem quality, crystallized Spodumenes are only found in a few places on earth. One of the "spikers" that we put into this week's auction. Ex Brian Kosnar Collection. Valued at $3000.
