Item Description
This mine is best known for its superb Spodumene crystals, most notably for some of the finest crystals of Kunzite ever found in southern California. This crystal is a very fine and sculptural, doubly-terminated gem Spodumene (var Triphane) crystal from a discovery in 2011 at this famous San Diego County pegmatite mine. The crystal has superlative gemminess, a soft yellow-green color, well-striated sides, distinctively stepped terminations and classic waxy luster. The piece weighs in at 23.2 grams (over 100 carats!) and would make a great addition to a gem crystal suite or a collection of southern California minerals.
