Spodumene var: Triphane

Item Description

This is a fantastic, GEM QUALITY, classic Spodumene crystals showing rather smooth, lustrous, well-formed faces on all sides. The piece is a complete "floater", as it is doubly-terminated, with no real damage or point of attachment I can find. The crystal is a pale yellow "triphane" hue. Specimen weight is 33.78 grams. It's important to note that most Spodumene crystals (regardless of the variety) are rarely seen in this quality from Alto Ligonha. Most of them are either heavily etched, distorted or somewhat opaque, so to find such a fine piece like this is rare in my experience from this locality.
