Item Description
Some of the finest quality and well-formed crystals of Kunzite are found in Afghanistan. This piece is a good quality, broad, thick, sharp, lustrous, "sword"-shaped pinkish Kunzite group with a group of dark blue "Indicolite" Tourmaline crystals sitting on the termination. The piece is in fairly good shape all around, but there some interrupted growth around the upper portion of the crystal, which is not damage, just a spot where it grew against the pocket wall. Actually there is no real damage that I can find anywhere, even on the underside of the piece, just areas where the growth was inhibited during formation. You rarely see Kunzite crystals with dark blue Indicolite on the terminations like this from any locality. I must stress that the Kunzite is NOT opaque, and it's gemmy enough to pass light all the way through. The form, size, gemminess and the Tourmaline association make it a great gem crystal from this most prolific gem producing region. Priced at $1,500 in the inventory. Specimen weight is 190 grams.
