This sharp kunzite crystal actually has a very rare zoning of green atop, so that you could actually call it a bicolored spodumene, with triphane zoning on top of the kunzite core. This is visible only from the sides, but it is there. In any case, when lit strongly from above or below, it glows all pink as do most kunzites, when lit along the vertical axis. The termination is sharp and interesting for the patterns, with more and more detail and subtle features the closer you look! This is a typical crystal, except for the fancy termination that sets it apart, and why Gene had it to begin with. It displays beautifully in a case. From the Gene Meieran collection. 320 grams.
