Attractive and unusually razor-sharp, this Afghani Kunzite has an excellent hot pink color and a very symmetric and pointed termination. At 16.8 cm, the size of this long, slender crystal is quite impressive as it looks nothing so much like carved or machined...somehow sharper than most examples from here, because of the elongated symmetry and extremely pointed termination. The core is gemmy, with a silky luster and a robust pink color. This is not pale, as are so many. It also is not etched and wrinkled, as so many are when they get to this size. It has a better color than the photos convey, so please see the video. Few crystals are so long and yet colorful as this Kunzite in a size that is large, but yet very manageable for any collection case. 104 grams, less heavy than the volume indicates. Herb Obodda opened the door to Pakistan and this one he considered so unusual, he kept it in his personal collection for decades (we later bought the collection). Out of all possible provenance for a Pakistani mineral collection, coming out of Herb's is about the best validation there is.
