Item Description
Various pegmatite localities in Afghanistan have produced some of the most well-known crystals of Kunzite ever found. This piece is a classic, and eye-catching gemmy Kunzite crystal from Nuristan, Afghanistan. This piece has a beautiful light purple hue with good internal translucency. The front face of the piece has attractive striations, with an almost chatoyant effect when rotated in the light. The back of the crystal is coated with micro white Feldspar and tiny groups of Mica. A very attractive representation of this classic material. It's important to note that good crystallized Kunzites are literally only found in a few places on earth (Brazil, San Diego County and Afghanistan) in any real quantity. Specimen weight is 129.9 grams.
