Item Description

A classic, and eye-catching gemmy Kunzite crystal from Afghanistan. This piece has a beautiful purple hue (with a slight pink overtone), and if you look at down the "c" axis of the prism, it shows a stronger purple hue due to the pleochroism of the species. The piece is etched all around, creating a complete "floater" specimen with no sign of attachment anywhere. The sculptural form and gemminess make this piece a great example from this most prolific gem producing region. A very attractive representation of this classic material. It's important to note that good crystallized Kunzites are literally only found in a few places on earth (Brazil, San Diego County and Afghanistan) in any real quantity. Specimen weight is 71.6 grams.
