Item Description

The video says it all - this is a gorgeous, hot pink, over three-inch prism of kunzite with exceptional color and gemminess. It is of uncommonly high quality for a specimen of this size! Looking down the c-axis of this kunzite, the color is an incredibly intense magenta! Two prism faces are stylishly striated for a little subtle detail, and it is perfectly terminated atop. The edges and crystal faces are sharp with only one a few tiny indentations that represent either tiny muscovite or albite crystals that were dissolved at some point late in the crystal's history. A beautiful gem kunzite crystal! Ex. Herb Obodda personal collection - he would have brought it from the source, himself, on one of his many trips there as he opened up Afghanistan to minerals from the late 1960s on. Being his personal piece, adds serious provenance. Mass is 75.2 grams. Custom base included.
