Spodumene (Triphane with Kunzite)

Item Description

Sculptural large bi-colored tabular spodumene from the Pech Pegmatites. The gemmy to translucent crystal is well-striated and has typical bright waxy luster. The sharp, wedge-shaped termination area is a pleasing light Triphane (green) with the remaining body being a light lilac (Kunzite) hue. The outer layer on the left side below the triphane termination area is colorless to off-white. The crystal is complete all-around. The upper right edge of triphane area below the termination has a section missing, as does the colorless to white section on the lower left of the piece. The C-axis shot of the contacted base highlights the lilac kunzite color of the lower section of the spodumene crystal. Showy, highly representative, large 2-color spodumene from Pech.
