Spodumene (Triphane with Kunzite)

Item Description

Well-formed, stout and interesting large bi-colored spodumene crystal from recent finds at the well-known Pech pegmatites, showing off a mix of varieties in one specimen! The body of the classic, tabular, well-striated, gemmy to translucent prism with waxy luster faces is desirable lilac Kunzite. The sharp, frosted, chisel/wedge-shaped termination area is complementary Triphane (green) - also a color varietal of spodumene. The C-axis shot (looking up the length, and lighting it, which transmits light better) of the termination highlights the pretty lilac color of this excellent crystal. Complete all-around and in great shape. The front is pristine and the contacting on the back of the crystal has very little damage, per se and is out-of-sight. An excellent bi-colored spodumene from Pech. Mass is 251 grams.
