Item Description

Some of the finest example of gem quality Spodumene are those from the various pegmatites in Afghanistan. This piece is a beautiful, doubly-terminated (multi-terminated) soft greenish-yellow Spodumene crystal, with no point of attachment, making it a complete "floater". The crystal has excellent luster all around (no "dusty" faces) and the graceful hydrothermal etching gives it an almost ethereal appearance. I can't find any damage, and it's even gemmy in areas when backlit. When you look down the "c" axis, you can see thin "tube" like openings that run through the length of the crystal. Specimen weight is 46.15 grams.
