Item Description
Over the last few decades, a handful of localities in Afghanistan have given the mineral collecting world some of the best gem quality and superbly well-crystallized examples of Spodumene in the world. This includes what are certainly some of the finest Kunzite crystal ever found. This piece is a fantastic, highly sculptural beautiful, doubly-terminated (multi-terminated) soft greenish-yellow Spodumene crystal, with no point of attachment, making it a complete "floater". The crystal has fairly good luster all around (with very little in the way of "dusty" faces) and incredibly dramatic hydrothermal etching which gives it an almost ethereal appearance. I can't find any real damage anywhere. Additionally, there is a small Smoky Quartz crystal on the piece for a nice accent. You'll never see another one exactly like this piece as the etching creates a unique overall specimen with a distinctive shape/form. Specimen weight is 36.0 grams. Priced in the inventory at $950.
