This is a GEM spodumene. It is not just gemmy, translucent...it is gemmy transparent and you can read through it all. It is a perfect jewel, doubly-terminated, in large size. It has sparkling, complex terminations with excellent shape and form, and overall just more looks like a piece of glass than a typical spodumene. It has a higher luster and brightness than most all others. This is a major gem crystal for the high optical gem quality, and because it is not damaged or repaired. It is 409 grams (approximately 1 pound in weight). This is a recent and notable deaccession from the important gem crystals collection of Gene Meieran. He has been collecting these for decades with an eye for quality and rarity of form and style. While you can get spodumene in general, crystals like this are one in 1000. Valued $12000-15000.
