Spodumene (doubly-terminated GEM crystal)

Going back into the late 1980s, Afghanistan has been the source of some of the best quality examples of crystallized, gem quality Spodumene ever found. Keep in mind that at lot of Spodumene crystals are opaque and kind of crude from most world localities, so to find euhedral transparent crystals of any size is honestly fairly rare outside of a few world localities. Most people are familiar with the famous pink Kunzite crystals from Afghanistan, but Spodumene is actually found in several colors. This piece is a well-formed, very sharp highly lustrous, GEM quality light yellow colored, prismatic, crystal of Triphane Spodumene, with no matrix. It's rare to find such pristine crystals with high luster and remarkably smooth, well-formed faces. The crystal is in great condition all around, with no major damage. The piece is doubly-terminated as ne end has a pristine, termination with lustrous, slightly etched faces, while the other end is re-crystallized ("re-healed"), making it a complete "floater". Very attractive and certainly worth owning if you're a fan of gem crystals, or minerals from Afghanistan. Specimen weight is 44.5 grams.
