Item Description
This is a wonderful classic Brazilian spodumen specimen showing delightful hydrothermal etching on all sides. The piece is nearly a floater, as it is doubly-terminated and I honestly cannot find any true point of attachment, but it is contacted on one end so it's not 100% pristine. It has a very pale pink color on one end, and a soft yellow-green "Triphane" hue throughout the rest of the crystal. Perhaps the most significant aspect of the piece is that it is nearly 100% gem quality, although it is difficult to illustrate this in the photos. Trust me, it's better in person and really eye catching with the transiting between the graceful etched faces on each end and the broad gem prism faces. Before Afghanistan, these specimens stood as some of the finest for gem Spodumene extant, and in regards to outright sparkly brilliance and luster, still do. Ex Paolo Matioli Collection, valued at $2000.
