Item Description
An amazingly rich, hefty and showy specimen shot through with spinel-twinned silver crystals encased in calcite from the famed Batopilas mines of Chihuahua. Many of the crystals are curved and curled. Many crystals have a bright patina and many are coated with acanthite. Super-rich silver ore. The longest spinel is 2.8 cm! I suspect this is older material and not from the 1980s finds. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection. 157 grams.
