Item Description
An adorable and unusual spinel-twinned silver from the historic mines at Kongsberg. Thick Silver "feathers", such as this, are quite rare from here. It is reminiscent of Michigan Copper Country silvers. The flattened spinel-twinned crystals have a beautiful, sculptural, branching form. The piece undoubtedly dates to the 1800s, with the old H. Bloch label. Ex Phil Scalisi Collection. Exotic, rare and excellent - the photos really say it all! Valued at $2000-2500.
