Item Description
The famous mines at Chanarcillo, Chile produced a rich array of beautiful silver-related species. This aesthetic specimen of herringbone-patterned "feathers" and isolated, elongated, spinel-twinned silver crystals attached to calcite is a classic Chanarcillo habit. The isolated crystals look like tentacles reaching out from some kind of sea creature. Undoubtably century-old material, but no proof. Ex Rich Hauck Silver Collection. A classic and excellent miniature.
