The famous mines at Batolpilas are renowned for spinel-twinned silver specimens and this is an outstanding example. This dramatic small cabinet has a fantastic sparse "feather" of very elongated spinel-twins with a beautiful variable patina. The feather is aesthetically attached to a dense nest of smaller crystals and a bit of calcite matrix. The "barbed" spinels on the long spine add pizzazz. Very choice larger material from the locale and these are long crystals for Batopilas. Valued at $1750-2000.
