Item Description
A beautifully sculptural old-time leaf-shaped crystallized gold specimen from the alluvial deposits of the Lena River Basin in Siberia. The rich yellow crystal is a hoppered spinel-twin single crystal, with a distinctive central vein patterning. Ex F. John Barlow Gold Collection # 4194, which sold in 1999. 14.83 carats or nearly 3 grams mass. Lena River gold is seldom on the market, for obvious reasons. Barlow was known to have an extensive suite of this material in the 1990s.
